How to Add & Manage Your Digital Resident Guide

Digitizing your resident guide allows residents to access everything they need in one place

The New Way with Flamingoโ€™s Digital Resident GuideDigitizing your resident guide allows you to add everything residents need in one place and cuts down on the number of calls, emails, and office visits you get from residents. Residents can search your digital resident guide for information at anytime just like they can search Google for information at anytime. 
 

Here is How To Add or Edit your Digital Resident Guide 

Step 1: Login at Dashboard.GetFlamingo.Com > Manage > Digital Community Guide >


Step 2: Understand all the elements of of a digital resident guide:
  • Category: this is a common group of content. You can have as few or as many categories as you want. Common categories include 
    • Popular
    • Building Services
    • Resident Services
    • Maintenance
    • Community Guide
    • Rewards & Perks
    • Policies and Procedures
    • Helpful Tips & Info
    • Social Media
    • Reviews Links
    • Suggestions Box
  • Content Types: there are 5 main types of content you can use as part of your resident guide.
    • Email Link - this allows you to add an email and when residents tab on the email attribute, it opens their primary email sending app with the email address and subject line you specified already pre-filled. 
    • URL Link - when residents tab on this, it takes them to the URL/website you designed. 
    • App Link - when residents tab on this, it takes them to an app you designed. If they have the app downloaded, it instantly opens the app. If the app isn't on their phone, they are taken to the app store to open download the app. 
    • Document - this allows you to upload a document like your resident guide, community map or any PDF or image. 
    • Content Page - this allows you to create a native content page similar to how you might create a word document. You can completely digitalize your resident guide, add important phone numbers, FAQs and many other content you want residents to have access to. You can even embed images. We recommend using a content page over uploading a document because text added as content pages look better than a document that is uploaded. 
Step 3: Review or edit the Pre-Populated Digital Resident Guide


To make set up easy, we have already pre-populated your account with templated digital resident guide. These are the tasks that 99% of apartments use. But, you can edit or delete these or add new tasks by navigating to Dashboard.GetFlamingo.Com > Manage > Digital Resident Guide

Step 4: Add your branded icons

To ensure your app looks professional and on-brand, add professional icons to each tile on the digital resident guide.
