How to Scan and Manage Packages

Scan packages and Flamingo automatically notifies the resident with reminders every 48 hours until the package is picked up

If you are on Tier 1 or higher, you have access to to Flamingo's Package Scanning and Management Feature.

How it works: You can scan or enter package information. Residents receive a push notification and email alert that they have a package. When they resident picks up the package, you mark it as picked up. If a resident fails to pick up, they receive automatic reminders every 48 hours until the package is picked up.

How to Scan Packages do: Using a Mobile Phone
  1. Open dashboard.getflamingo.com using your cellphone or dedicated iPad. 
  2. Tap on the Hamburger menu on the upper left hand corner
  3. Tap on "Manage" > then tap on "Package Management"
  4. Scroll to the left to see 'Scan' icon or "Plus Sign" Icon
  5. When you tap on the "Scan" icon, the system will access your phone's camera allowing you to scan a package. 
  6. Alternatively you can simply enter the package information manually, especially in instances where the system doesn't pick up all the information from the scan.
  7. After you scan the package, you can optionally take and Upload a Photo of the package.
  8. Enter the following information - 
    1. Resident - find the resident from the drop down menu. If they don't have an account in the app, then you'd need to enter their email manually by tapping on "Send by Email". 
    2. Carrier - if the scan doesn't pick up the Carrier, you can enter this information
    3. Date Delivered - this will be the date you scanned. You can edit this if needed. 
    4. Pick Up Location - enter where the resident should pick up the package. 
  9. Tap on "Add and Notify
  10. The resident will be notified via email and push notification that they have a package.  
  11. Once the resident picks up the package, change the status to "Picked Up" logging in to Dashboard.GetFlamingo.Com >  Manage > Package Management > Status. If you don't do this, then the resident will keep getting notifications. 

How to Add Packages do: Using Desktop Computer
  1. Open dashboard.getflamingo.com  
  2. Click Manage
  3. Click on Package Management
  4. Click on "+ Add Package"
  5. The resident will be notified via email and push notification that they have a package.  
  6. Once the resident picks up the package, change the status to "Picked Up" logging in to Dashboard.GetFlamingo.Com >  Manage > Package Management > Status. If you don't do this, then the resident will keep getting notifications.
