How to set up Flamingo TV Digital Signage on Amazon Fire TV Stick

Here are the high level steps:
  1. Purchase and set up an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K.
  2. Download the Flamingo TV - Digital SignageApp from the Amazon App Store to the Fire TV Stick 4K.

  3. Sign into your Flamingo Admin Dashboard and add the screen. 
  4. Assign Content by dragging and dropping

1. Purchase and set up an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K
  1. Plug the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K into the HDMI Port of the TV and into a power outlet. 
  2. Connect the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K to a secure and stable WIFI network
2. Download and Set up Flamingo TV - Digital Signage App from the Amazon App Store to the Fire TV Stick 4K. 
  1. Press the search icon on the Fire TV home screen (you might need to first create an Amazon account. We recommend using an email and password that others on your team can access)
  2. Type in Flamingo TV - Digital Signage 
  3. Click to download the app and launch it once it's installed
3. Sign into your Flamingo Admin Dashboard and add the screen
  1. Go to Dashboard.GetFlamingo.Com and Login
  2. Select the building where the screen is located (skip this step if you only manage one building)
  3. Go to Communication >  Digital Signage > Add Screens
  4. Enter the Screen Name. Make sure the name you use includes the location, floor number and screen size. E.g. "Mail Room - 50 Inches - 5th Floor"
  5. Enter the Paircode you see on the screen
  6. Click Add Screen
4. Assign Content
  1. Add content to the screen by uploading images or videos and dragging and dropping them to the appropriate section on the screen. You can also add apps like Instagram, Weather, Website, Local Events, Building Events. 
  2. The screen comes with some content already preloaded including Weather, Local Events, Building Events, and some Flamingo content. 
Quick Facts
  • The screen is divided into 4 sections and the sizes are listed for your reference. These cannot be changed. 
  • Images - you can drag and drop images to the right section of the screen. Please ensure your images are the right size. 
  • Videos - you can upload videos to the screen and pick whether or not the screens play sound.
  • Instagram App - when you add this, you need to add the URL of the Instagram page you want to scroll on the screen
  • Building Events app - this displays any events you have on your calendar
  • Local Events app - this displays local events in the neighborhood
  • Preview - the eye icon lets you preview what is playing on the screen
  • You can copy all the content from one screen onto another screen by clicking on the copy icon next to the preview icon
  • If your screen disconnects, you'll get an email notification. Restarting the app or Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K device will solve 99.9% of problems.
