Fixing Common Digital Signage Issues

If your digital signage screen has been off for more than 12 hours, you'll get an automated email. Restarting the Firestick device will solve 99.9% of issues that you come across.

Here are some of the common digital issues:

1) Digital Signage is disconnected: If our system isn't able to communicate with the device, the status changes from "Connected" to "Disconnected". Common reasons for this are:
  • The WIFI is disconnected
  • The power is out
  • The device has been unplugged
You can solve this by testing and reconnecting the WIFI, restarting the device, or plugging it back in. See here for how to check WIFI signage strength on Amazon Fire TV Stick.

Additionally, you can solve WIFI issues by using direct internet instead of WIFI. You can plug in directly by using an Amazon Ethernet Adapter for Amazon Fire TV Devices.

2) Content isn't updating: Check to ensure the screen is connected. If the screen is Disconnected, see point one above. If the screen is "Connected", try restarting the device and or clearing the cache and let Flamingo know because the system automatically clears cached.

3) Digital Signage or Fire Stick keeps getting kick-off WIFI or keeps showing a screen for you to accept the WIFI network terms and conditions: This happens if you are connected to a public WIFI network that only allows devices to be connected for a set period of time. To solve this, you need to connect to a private WIFI network or a different network or ask your IT department or network provider to make an exception for the device.
